Reingard Kolon (Austria)

My life has always been focused on creative expression, whether that be dance, crafts, art, or even parenting. When we express ourselves, wholly and authentically, through activities that bring something new and positive into the world, magic happens.
My Oma showed me the natural world in all its beauty and complexity. The lineage of female artisans, both in my family and in my Austrian community, shared with me crafts and traditions that date back generations. I spent my career passing that knowledge on to children in primary school. More than twenty years ago, my brother, an accomplished artist, introduced me to visual art, particularly the expression of spirit found in vision painting. I practiced Vision Painting with its founder,Stewart Cubley, at the Esalen Institute in California. Later I branched out crafting mandalas and experimenting with neuro-graphic drawing.
My dearest love is dancing, particularly the process of free and conscious movement found in 5 Rhythms, Soul Motion, and Movement Medicine. I first danced with Vinn Marti at Esalen in 2006. Since then I have practiced with Anne Halprin, Adam Barley, Lucia Horan, Edgar Spieker, David Mooney and others. I started Spirit Movement in Wisconsin in 2022, bringing it to Austria in 2025. My wish is to share the joy and profound insight I find in movement with all of you.

Tetsuho Christopher Kolon (United States)

After reading Tassajara Cooking by Ed Brown and The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh in the early 80s, Christopher began his formal Zen practice at the Berkeley Zen Center in 1982. By the late 80s life had intervened (work, career, family – „the full catastrophe“ as Zorba said) and he left practice, returning to it in 2003. A student of Shoho Michael Newhall, Roshi and Nenzen Pamela Brown Sensei, Christopher considers Jikoji his home sangha. Tetsuhō Christopher was ordained as a zen priest in July 2024 by Nenzen Pamela Brown Roshi, and was Shuso, or head student, during Jikoji’s 2025 winter practice period, culminating in his Shuso ceremony in March 2025. He resides in Graz, Austria.
